Animation by Blender Studios
Edit by CueTube

This is my first attempt at scoring to picture. Before this I would make a lot of sketches that I would be in a mood for and complete some of them into full pieces. Locking music picture was surprisingly challenging, since before this most my of pieces would be looping or have one set emotion.

Empty Workshop – Personal Project

When I made this piece, I had just finished watching a Netflix show called “Violet Evergarden”. The composer for this show, Evan Call, did such an amazing score to an amazing show that I felt really inspired to create a piece as if I made the music for it. This was the result.

Video Game Music Lounge Season 8 Entry – Arrangement Piece

I participated in a composing competition of sorts, centered around video game music. For one of the rounds, we were tasked to compose a piece with melodies from 3 different video game and its soundtrack.

My piece utilized the melodies from “Eryth Sea/Night” by Manami Kiyota from the “Xenoblade Chronicles” soundtrack, “The Frostlands” by Yasunori Nishiki from the “Octopath Traveler” soundtrack, and “City Ruins” by Keiichi Okabe from the “NieR: Automata” soundtrack.

Ryan Leach October 2023 Composing Competition Entry

This composing competition I was tasked to create a piece no longer than 90 seconds to the image by Lorenzo Lanfranconi . I took a lot of inspiration from video games from my childhood with that sense of exploration portrayed similarly to the image and came up with this piece.

Ryan Leach April 2023 Composing Competition Entry

In this competition entry, I was to score to this image that is under 90 seconds by Marco De la Sierra. During this time, I was mainly composing many sorrowful and bombastic pieces. At first I was concerned whether I could pull of a change of mood compared to my previous pieces, but I am quite happy with how this turned out.
